As a growing technology company with offices around the world in London, Boston and Sydney there are many moving parts, and often weeks and months fly by. As Head of People at BookingBug I believe it’s important to highlight some of our amazing employees that make BookingBug such a great place to work.
Over the next few months, I’ll be introducing you to several employees from our offices - third up in the employee spotlight series is Vinh Luu, Implementation Manager based in our London office.
Here’s what Vinh had to say:
Let's set the scene. It's 2010, the iPhone 4 was around the corner, Instagram hadn't been launched, and Toy Story 3 was going to make us weep in the coming months. My interview was at a Cafe Nero near Liverpool Street (not sure if the co-founders had secured an office yet) and the most important question pops up - do you use an iPhone or an Android device?
To this day I'm 100% certain saying Android got me the job (I use an iPhone now). That was for a Social Media Marketing Intern position.
7 years later I am now an Implementation Manager though between the roles the majority of my time had been in Customer Support.
I've seen the company grow enormously over the last few years and we now have offices in both the US and Australia which I would never have seen coming.
I'm really proud to work here and explaining to people how the business has grown from when I first started always amazes people. BookingBug will certainly help you go as far as you want to go.
I've seen members of the Customer Support team grow and develop and even move into other departments of the business such as Project Management, Development, QA and Customer Success. This has been the most exciting part of my time here. Customer Support is certainly a great place to start for gaining valuable knowledge of the system.
It's been a great 7 years so far. 6 office moves (I lose count), 100+ employees, and meeting fellow sports entertainment (wrestling) fans. I couldn't ask for anything more.
