Meet JRNI’s Delivery Manager (APAC), Addy Nazar. We sat down (virtually) with Addy to find out more about his career progression, what he loves about working for JRNI, and some of his hobbies outside of work!
Give us an overview of your professional experience.
Since my very first job in college as a freelance event manager, I have always been passionate about organizing people effectively to solve problems. Fortunately for me, this passion translated into a project and program management career spanning 11 years.
Throughout my career I’ve worked with a variety of medium and large enterprise businesses across industries such as financial services, government, manufacturing, retail, and airlines.
What’s one of your biggest accomplishments so far in your career at JRNI?
In 2019 I was part of the team that successfully participated in an RFP to bring onboard one of JRNI’s largest customers - the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIS). For context, the National Disability Insurance Scheme is a scheme of the Australian Federal Government that funds costs associated with disability. I was responsible for authoring the SOW and leading the delivery of the project.
This was an important accomplishment because I personally always wanted to get involved in a project of positive social consequence and national significance.
Also, this was one of the most complex deliveries for JRNI since it involved a large change management process internally across product management, professional services, and development teams; and externally for the customer with multiple federal agencies being involved in organizing the delivery of various components.
What’s the most rewarding part about working at JRNI?
Being a part of the APAC team, I am constantly involved with every aspect of the local business and we as a team collectively punch above and beyond our weight to make things happen - I find this experience very rewarding.
Also, I thrive in ambiguity and the pace of change here is not for the faint of heart! 🙂
What’s a typical day like for you?
I haven't had one yet!
However, as the CX owner for customers in the APAC region, a constant theme throughout my day is customer interaction. Whether it be for escalation management, leading business/project reviews, consulting, solution implementation, or sometimes simply acting as a sounding board for new ideas.
What’s your favorite thing about your coworkers/team?
I consider myself lucky to be a part of the APAC JRNI team. My teammates genuinely go out of their way to help each other and work as a close knit community, which is something I really admire.
If you had to pick one, what’s your favorite memory at JRNI so far?
There are many, but one of my favorite memories is when the entire team came over to my place (pre-COVID) for an evening of drinks, games, and banter. We had such a blast and it coincidentally became the last time all of us would meet as a team for the remainder of 2020.
What makes JRNI different?
The one thing that sets JRNI apart is its innovative culture. The culture allows for you to present your ideas fearlessly and follow through with its implementation if you can objectively prove that it is in the best interest of the organization.
We embrace different opinions, ideas, and individualism in everything we do.
Do you have any hobbies you’re passionate about?
I absolutely love motorcycles (my YouTube suggestions are a testament to this fact). Taking my motorcycle out on a day long road trip with mates to explore new places is my idea of a perfect Sunday!
What's one thing that people don't know about you?
I can speak five languages fluently: English, Hindi, Malayalam, Telugu, and Tamil.
